Comments from Mayor Stan Pickett of the City of Mesquite, TX
On September 11, 2001, the world joined the United States of America as our country watched in shock as the nation’s ideals and freedoms were attacked. In 2011, the Mesquite Fire Department was entrusted with a historic piece of steel from one of the Twin Towers destroyed on 9/11. The 15-foot long, 575-pound twisted beam is the centerpiece of Mesquite Freedom Park. With the support of the local community, the City of Mesquite created this outdoor place of gathering, reflection and celebration of freedom on the North Lawn of the Mesquite Arts Center, 1527 N. Galloway Avenue. A park dedication ceremony was held on September 11, 2016 as our country marked the 15th anniversary of 9/11.

Long-term care insurance is an insurance policy you can buy to protect you financially in case you need to go into a nursing home or have regular nursing care. Long-term care insurance will cover all or some of the (often exorbitant) costs of care.
Unlike traditional health insurance, long-term care insurance is designed to cover long-term services and supports, including personal and custodial care in a variety of settings such as your home, a community organization, or other facility.
Long-term care insurance policies reimburse policyholders a daily amount (up to a pre-selected limit) for services to assist them with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, or eating. You can select a range of care options and benefits that allow you to get the services you need, where you need them.
The cost of your long-term care policy is based on:
Something to keep in mind
Many long-term care insurance policies have limits on how long or how much they will pay. Some policies will pay the costs of your long-term care for two to five years, while other insurance companies offer policies that will pay your long-term care costs for as long as you live—no matter how much it costs. But there are very few that have no such limits.
"Does Agape offer a Long Term Care Policy?"
Agape Home Healthcare is a home health agency and does not provide insurance policies. A healthcare insurance provider may be able to help you find a long term care policy that fits your needs.
"Can I receive Home Health services without paying for a Long Term Care insurance plan?"
At Agape, we do our best to help each potential client get the proper care that they need. Depending on your circumstances, you may qualify for home health services under a Texas state funded program like Primary Home Care, Community Based Alternatives, or others which can cover the costs associated with home care. Please call our office for a free consultation.
"What if I don't qualify for services under a state funded program, and I don't have a Long Term Care insurance policy? Can I still receive home Health care services?"
Our Private Pay program offers any of our home health care services at the client's personal expense. This means that the client agrees to pay for services "out-of-pocket."
You may have heard someone mention private pay home care. With so many options available in the home care industry, it can be very confusing for the general public to sort out what services are right for their needs. At Agape Home Healthcare we hear from clients every day who are confused about their home care. Let's talk about private pay.
"I don't pay out of pocket for the home care services I currently receive."
Many of our clients receive services they are qualified for through state funded programs without cost to the client. These programs may have limits or restrictions. Sometimes an individual may need services that they are not qualified for through these state funded programs. Through our private pay option any client can receive the services they need which they may not have otherwise qualified for by paying for these services out of pocket.
"My parent has a long term care insurance plan."
Some of our clients who do not qualify for services through state funded programs may receive services through our private pay program. Depending on the insurance policy, long term care and other services may be covered. Not all health insurance plans cover long term care or home health.
"Does my health insurance plan cover home health services?"
If you are unsure if your health insurance covers the services provided by home health and long term care, please give us a call at 972-681-8420.
Insurance plans often have restrictions and limits. If your insurance does not cover the services you need, or discontinues payment for services sooner than you are ready for or expect, you are generally left to pay the difference "out-of-pocket." Private Pay, also referred to as "out-of-pocket payments", helps to cover the difference in situations such as this.
Outside help paying for in-home care services is limited and usually covers only short-term home health care needs. Paying privately for home healthcare services is often a necessary option for individuals who want to remain living independently in their homes. Since Medicaid and Medicare typically do not pay for Long-Term Care, the burden of payment becomes that of the individual or their extended family. Individuals using insurance, such as Long-Term Care Insurance, are considered ‘private pay’ since they are not being covered by a government program.
